This solvent-based waterproofing system contains Pliolite and Inert Fibres and should be used with Bontex Membrane for best results. It is highly alkali-resistant and suitable for application on concrete, cement, fibre cement, plaster board, as well as metal and fibre cement roof awnings. As the coating dries to a thermoplastic, abrasion-resistant film with a slight sheen, Ti-Proof is highly suitable for use in inclement weather conditions. Unlike water-based coatings, the material has a great affinity for synthetic material and the wet-through of cloth becomes relatively easy. It has excellent adhesion to most previously repaired substrates. Colour Range: White

Type

  • A Solvent Based Waterproofing System containing Pliolite and Inert Fibres. For best results it should be used in conjunction with Bontex Membrane.

Appearance

  • The coating dries to a thermoplastic abrasion resistant film with a slight sheen.

Properties and Uses

  • Ti-Proof is highly suitable for use in inclement weather conditions and, unlike water-based coatings, the material has a great affinity for synthetic material and the wet-through of cloth becomes relatively easy. This flexible product is highly alkali resistant and suitable for direct application to concrete, cement, fibre cement, plaster board as well as suitably prepared new or painted metal and fibre cement roof awnings. It has excellent adhesion to most previously repaired substrates.

Surface Preparation

  • Essential for good paint performance is a sound substrate that has been properly cleaned and prepared. On existing painted surfaces it is recommended that a small section of paint must be removed to establish the condition of the original paint and the substrate. Where there is doubt, the paint must be removed to a sound base. All surfaces must be dry, free from loose and flaky material, grease and fungus prior to applying the new paint system.

Applications Instructions

  • These instructions are issued as an aid in determining correct surface preparations, mixing and application procedures. These instructions should be closely followed to obtain maximum service from the material. Titanium Ti-Proof Waterproofing system consists of 3 coats Titanium Ti-Proof with Bontex material embedded between the 1st and the 2nd coat. To complete the 5-coat system, two final coats of one of Titanium’s high quality paints must be applied, e.g. Titanium Ti-Sheen Waterbased Adhesion Promoted 100% Pure Acrylic Low Sheen Waterbased Paint or Titanium Ti-Roof Adhesion Promoted 100% Pure Acrylic Light-Fast Waterbased Roof Paint or Titanium Satin Finish 100% Pure Acrylic Waterbased Medium Sheen Paint or Titanium Ti-Tex High Quality Durable UV Resistant 100% Pure Acrylic Waterbased Texture Paint.

1. Painted Parapet Wall Surfaces

  • (a) Remove loose and flaky material, dust, fungus, etc. with a high pressure water jet. Allow to dry.
  • (b) 1 st application: Titanium Anti-Fungus Wash. Leave on the surface for at least 24 hours.
  • (c) 1 st coat: Titanium Ti-Proof. Apply liberal with brush. Whilst wet, embed with Bontex.
  • (d) 2 nd coat: Titanium Ti-Proof. Immediately after the 1st coat and leave for 24 hours.
  • (e) 3 rd coat: Titanium Ti-Proof and leave for 24 hours.
  • (f) 4 th and 5th coat: Titanium Ti-Sheen Waterbased Adhesion Promoted 100% Pure Acrylic Low Sheen Waterbased Paint or Titanium Ti-Roof Adhesion Promoted 100% Pure Acrylic Light-Fast Waterbased Roof Paint or Titanium Satin Finish 100% Pure Acrylic Waterbased Medium Sheen Paint or Titanium Ti-Tex High Quality Durable UV Resistant 100% Pure Acrylic Waterbased Texture Paint.

2. New Galvanised Iron Roof-Sheeting

  • (a) Degrease with Titanium Ti-Clean. Rinse off with clean water. Allow to dry.
  • (b) 1 st application: Titanium Waterbased Metal Primer.
  • (c) 1 st coat: Titanium Ti-Proof. Apply liberally by brush. Whilst wet, embed with Bontex.
  • (d) 2 nd coat: Titanium Ti-Proof immediately after the 1st coat and wait for 24 hours.
  • (e) 3 rd coat: Titanium Ti-Proof and wait for 24 hours.
  • (f) 4 th & 5th coat: As described in 1(f) above.
